Dr. Paige O’Neill, BCBAD, is an Assistant Professor in the Behavior Analysis and Therapy program. She earned her Ph.D. in Applied Behavior Analysis from the University of Nebraska Medical Center’s Munroe-Meyer Institute in Omaha and earned her M.A. in Applied Disability Studies from Brock University in Ontario, Canada.
Dr. O’Neill’s clinical background centers on early intervention for young children on the autism spectrum. She has extensive experience designing and implementing individualized instructional programs to teach foundational adaptive, communication, and learningtolearn skills. Her clinical expertise includes shaping early language skills and social repertoires for early learners and children with profound autism.
Dr. O’Neill’s research spans both applied and translational areas of behavior analysis. Her applied work focuses on identifying and refining efficient teaching procedures for early learners, with particular attention to instructional variables that influence the acquisition of imitation, receptive language, and other pivotal developmental skills. In her translational research program, Dr. O’Neill uses computer analog preparations to examine how different types of treatment errors affect the effectiveness of differential reinforcement procedures.
In addition to these core lines of inquiry, Dr. O’Neill has a broad background in applied research related to caregiver training, treatment fidelity, and issues of cultural responsiveness and supervision in clinical service.
